T-Rex Scroll Saw Puzzle in PDF format with CNC DXF file

This option allows you to download the PDF file to print your own plans and download the DXF file for use with a CNC machine or laser cutter.

PDF Plans:

These T-Rex scroll saw plans can be used to create a dinosaur puzzle in 1/4" thick material at 16 inches tall or 32 inches tall or 1/2" thick material at 16 inches tall.

The PDF plans include 5 sheets for the 16" tall T-Rex, 17 sheets for the 32" tall T-Rex, and 40 sheets for the 48" tall T-Rex.

The sheets should be printed at 100% scale on 8.5" x 11" paper and then attached to plywood or other sheet goods with spray adhesive.

DXF File:

This downloadable dxf file will allow you to cut the puzzle pieces for your own 48" tall T-Rex dinosaur. The file is set up to cut 1/2" thick material with 1/2" slots.

Full Size - 48" tall T-Rex - slots are for 1/2" thick material

Half Size - 24" tall T-Rex - slots are for 1/4" thick material

By changing the scale of the file to match the thickness of the material you are using you will be able to cut dinosaurs in different sizes out of different materials.

For instance you can take the file for the 48" tall T-Rex for 1/2" thick material and then scale it to half size to cut a 24" tall T-Rex out of 1/4" material.

You need to cut the puzzle pieces to the correct scale so that the width of the slots match the thickness of the material you are using.

If you are cutting 1/2" thick material you will need to use a 1/4" diameter or smaller bit.  

If you are cutting 1/4" thick material you will need to use a 1/8" diameter or smaller bit.
